The Industrial Revolution
So many things happened
during this Modern era 1750. British
efforts to create cotton cloth triggered the modern industrial revolution. Being able to make clothing and blankets in
mass production made it easy because of textile machines. The balance of wealth and power shifted from
Europe to Britain and the rest of the world.
In 1700-1860 The
Revolution in Agriculture developed and new farming tools and crops were being
planted. They had horse drawn plow and could
plant seeds faster and the plows cut into the earth deeper to allow for
planting of potatoes and turnip. Because
the grow of farming was growing so fast new laws on land ownership were created. This holds true today one person can only
plant and get water on a certain amount of land and if they marry they can have
double. This increased domestic industry
farmers were planting cotton to turn into fabric to help them financially.
Engines replaced humans
so there was less of a need for workers.
This caused loss of wages and riots.
This increased cotton production in the U.S.
Transportation improved:
Railroads spread fast and integrated economy. Steam ships connected the world
via shipping schedules. Factors sprung
up in cities.
In 1860-1914 Steel and
chemical industries such as fertilizers, explosives, perfume and plastics.
Electricity was born by
Tesla in 1892. Edison developed systematic process of invention such as the
telephone. More warfare tools were
produced to create powerful armies and weapons, machine guns.
The age of Global Capitalism
was in full swing. Countries were investing in other countries and economies
grow strong.
Between 1750 to 1850 the
birthrate and death decline and populations began to increase and cities became
larger and richer. The population begin
to stabilize around the 1900.
So much happened during
the industrial revolution time frame.
This is what made our country strong and stable.
